Biography

On the 16th of November 1983 John was born and 10 years later he was playing guitar.

John's dad played Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Albert Collins in the car and John was listening. Quietly absorbing the licks and phrasing of these legends, John soon got his chance to play and explore the blues with the blessing of the Atlanta Blues Society shepherding the way. At the young age of 14 John started playing and receiving his musical education from the blues guitar gurus at Atlanta's legendary Northside Tavern.

John's high school band, Sons of Blues, created a stir when John let loose a torrent of blues so amazing a music critic accused John of “visiting the crossroads and making a shady deal with the devil”.

Fans began to hear what John was thinking and feeling. His early songwriting skills declared what many people are looking for - a shift in their life - in his song, “Need A Change.”

Strong guitar skills and powerful lyrics stand out on his latest CD, 2009's Back To Now. Combining roots music influences with exceptional blues guitar knowledge, John has developed a distinct and original sound that is enjoyed by fans and respected by musicians.

The song, "Throw Your Time Away", is a haunting portrait of that all too familiar sensation of time slipping away. “Flip's Tune” is a beautiful lyrical stroll that makes your mind wander and pulls you back in.

John is a musician with something to say, the songwriting skills to say it, and the guitar talent to make people notice. If you can catch a live performance the stage is set for a good time. From Roots to Blues Rock, John and his band will make you want to get up and dance and sit down and listen. It's all good.
